This week I traveled to Miami University to speak and give a workshop for their Art Education department. It was a great experience and the people were wonderful. This was my second workshop but my first time speaking so I was more than a little nervous. Creating my PowerPoint about how I teach and how I function as an artist/teacher opened my mind to some deep revelations about how and why I do what I do. I actually spoke for almost an hour and no one walked out or fell asleep so that was a blessing. I definitely need improvement but who doesn't when they first start out in strange territory. I want to share my paper clay process with others and doing a workshop is a positive step in the right direction. My next workshop will be in July at the AEAI St. Mary of the Woods art retreat so I have plenty of time to reflect and improve.
